Successful ISO certifications at Axpo Kompogas AG

Axpo Kompogas AG has successfully been awarded ISO certifications in the fields of plant construction and operation in Switzerland. They strengthen the position of the company on the market.

A year ago, Axpo Kompogas decided to have their two areas of activity certified: Plant construction as per ISO 9001 (quality management standard), and operation in Switzerland as per ISO 14001 (environmental management standard). Both certifications were successfully awarded in October, after "the auditing could be conducted in a very open and constructive atmosphere," according to reports by Bruno Schaller, Lead Auditor at the Swiss Association for Quality and Management Systems (SQS). Here, the clear obligation by the company's management to introduce and maintain effective quality and management systems is of particular importance, as is a systematically monitored continuous improvement process (CIP) and commitment with regard to customer satisfaction. Bruno Schaller found that "in the different areas, staff are very professional and highly motivated. All staff have a high level of specialist knowledge and the necessary know-how."

The market - both suppliers and customers - increasingly demands management systems that are sustainable and environmentally friendly. The certified environment management system in the Swiss operation business segment as per the ISO 14001 standard is an important criterion, as is the management system as per ISO 9001 in the plant construction segment. The two certifications are thus important milestones for Axpo Kompogas as the company celebrates its 20th anniversary.
