Use of fossil fuels
In a Kompogas plant, the biogas produced by the fermentation process is converted into green electricity and green heat in a combined heat and power plant (CHP). If one were to burn natural gas, which is a fossil fuel, in the same CHP, five times the amount of greenhouse gas emissions would result for the same quantity of electricity or heat.
Kompogas is renewable energy
The Kompogas process
- Uses organic waste to replace fossil fuels.
- Produces green electricity and heat.
- Converts one tonne of organic waste into enough CO2-neutral fuel for a medium-sized car to be able to cover a distance of 1,000 kilometres.
